Mayfield Critical Care Unit is one of the leading specialist centres in the country, providing complex nursing care for people with both physical and psychological needs. We specialise in the provision of care and treatment for clients who have Acquired Brain Injury, Challenging Behaviour and conditions such as Persistent Vegetative State, Chronicle Neurological Disorders and the management of people requiring artificial airway and augmented ventilation.
Situated in the heart of the City in the highly regarded residential area of Trentham, in Staffordshire, the centre enjoys easy access to the M6 motorway, Inter City Rail links and a variety of Public Transport facilities serving both the local community and the Midlands as a whole. Nearby amenities include restaurants and public houses, together with several convenience stores, a bank, post office and parkland areas.
A purpose built state of the art facility, Mayfield enjoys the very latest in specialist hospital equipment including; oxygen and medical suction available in all areas, back up generator, overhead hoists to all bedrooms, radio nurse call and video entry systems.
Specialist programs are developed and delivered by our multidisciplinary team of staff comprising First Level Nurses, Intermediate Nurse Carers and Occupational Therapists, who work in partnership with a range of external professionals to deliver a variety of specialist services which include; speech therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics, chiropody and education.
Relax@GuardianCare is located within Mayfield and is available for use at no extra cost* for clients able to benefit from this facility which includes a relaxation spa with hoist access, mood lighting and a range of therapy treatments. In addition, the adjacent sensory centre has the latest in computer generated video, lighting and therapy effects.
